The Opera Web Browser is among some of the most popular names when it comes to the world of web browsers. Opera has been around for a very long time, and has been one of the most popular names in the markets of technology. While the browser is facing major competition from the likes of Google Chrome and Firefox on PC, it continues to do well in the smartphone markets. Opera for Android is one of the most popular web browsers on the Android OS. The app has now received a major update.
Opera for Android has now been updated and brings forward a new and improved design – the material UI. Opera claims that this UI is a ‘fresh’ and ‘modern’ approach to the web browser. There have been many changes which have been made. Opera for Android now comes with a number of changes. First off, the speed dial has now been moved to the extreme left in a carousel on the home page. The home page too, has been revamped. On the right of the speed dial is a news feed.
Opera talks about these changes made to Opera for Android in a blog post. “Scroll through the channels across the top to see your favourite topics, and tap the + icon on the right to configure your favourite topics: you can easily add and remove them to customize the news you get.”
A ‘person icon’ has been introduced on the bottom-right, where the users would be able to access pages, bookmarks, history and downloads with ease. The menu on the top right has the find in page, data saving and sharing options listed under it. Opera for Android is indeed going through a major change, and if it were left to our judgement, we would certainly say that the app has never looked better! In the light of tough competition, Opera has become tougher.
