Apple has been having a rather rough year. After the thundering success that the iPhone 5s, and the iPhone 6 were, sales started to slow down with the 6s, and then there was the iPhone SE. After going through a slower period in terms of sales, Apple is now looking for stronger quarters. When Apple announced the arrival of their gen-next iPhone back in September of this year, we knew that the period of stronger sales is now here. Apple is focusing on making sure the sales are high for their gen-next iPhone 7 smartphones. Today, the devices are officially launched in India.

India, which has the second biggest population in the world, has over 97% of Android users. Out of the remaining three percent, there’s Microsoft’s smartphones and other similar OS’s too. Apple forms a very small percentage of the Indian audiences, but it is the perfect phone for the aspirational Indian. The iPhone 7, which is priced in higher than what most people prefer their phones to be in India, is indeed a costly affair. However, it is likely to sell well compared to the previous iPhones in India.

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will now go on sale in India, starting 7 PM today via authorized resellers. While the lowest priced variant begins at INR 60,000, the highest priced variant goes all the way up to INR 92,000. The smartphones are available in Gold, Jet Black, Matte Black, Rose Gold, and Silver colour variants.

Apple has brought forward a number of new features and improvements with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. There have been a number of changes which have been made to the device, and it is expected that device will sell well. You can check out our complete coverage of the launch of the device here.
