the rumor mill has it that a Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) is going to hit the shelves with the new S Pen that came with the Galaxy Note 7, and as a follow-up to those rumors, press renders of the device have gotten out to the public by way of leaks.
To start things off, it’s expected to have a 10.1-inch display, making it look the same as the current 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab A. Under the hood, it’s speculated to be powered by Samsung‘s home-built Exynos 7870 processor that clocks in at 1.6 GHz along with 2 GB worth of RAM, running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
Storage-wise, it’s said to come with 16 GB of on-board memory that’s expandable up to 128 GB via a microSD card. To make sure the lights are on throughout a day, it’s going to be loaded with a 7,300 mAh battery pack.
Since it’s believed to be the very same S Pen that the Galaxy Note 7 has, it’s a safe bet to assume that it’ll sport the new, nifty features it brought to the table as well, including Translate, Glance and Magnify.
There are no details about the price and release date just yet, but because these newly surfaced images seem to be press renders, there’s a good chance that it’ll launch soon enough.
The pictures (in the slideshow above) come from none other than the Samsung-dedicated website SamMobile, and it notes that the new Galaxy Tab A is more or less the same across the board compared with the existing model.
If anyone’s wondering just where the heck the S Pen is, that’s because it’s not included in the images. However, the churning rumor mill says that this is indeed the variant that’ll come with the peripheral.
Long story short, the Galaxy Tab A (2016) is without a doubt a smarter and more capable tablet than its predecessors thanks to the S Pen.
In other related news, the first-generation Galaxy Tab S 8.4 recently started receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and that means it’s going to get features such as Google Now on Tap, Doze Mode and an improved app permission system.
