The Moto G series of devices, years from now, will be remembered as an iconic line of smartphones. The devices come out into the markets with a perfect combination of price and features. Neither is it as entry level or low-end as the Moto E series of devices (which, by the way, are getting a major overhaul), or as costly as the Moto X series of smartphones. (now known as the Moto Z series). However, over the years, the company has witnessed a number of changes. One of their new smartphones that releases in India on the 6th of September is that of the Moto G4 Play.

The company started off with the ‘Play’ series of smartphones last year with the Moto X Play, which received a rather mild reaction in the markets. Motorola is now trying it out in the Moto G series of devices, and would be releasing it as the Moto G4 Play. The smartphone here would be an entry level device, and the company plans to release it as the lowest priced Moto G.

Based on reports via Droidmen, it seems that the Moto G4 Play would be priced in at approximately Rupees 8999, as tipped by Zauba listings in the past. The specs of the device are tipped to be a 5 inched screen, featuring an HD Display. The device would be running the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS, and would feature 2 GB of RAM with a 16 GB expandable storage space.

The Moto G4 Play also features a 2800mAh battery, and runs on a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC. The device is expected to be quite popular in the Indian smartphone markets considering its cost effective approach. The announcement regarding the arrival of this smartphone was made by Motorola India’s Facebook page. More details are expected to be announced soon.
