LG’s second major flagship smartphone of the year, the LG V30 is all set to launch on the 31st of August. The phone will be announced on the eve of the IFA 2017 event, and it is expected to be among one of the biggest launches of the year. The phone is all set to come out in 20 days. However today, LG officially provided some details about the LG V30 camera. Let us take a closer look at what makes the camera on this phone so special:
The LG V30 camera is going to be the first ever smartphone camera to come out with an aperture of f/1.6. This means that the LG V30 camera will beat the Samsung Galaxy S8 and HTC U11 cameras with f/1.7, the LG G6 camera with f/1.8 and the Google Pixel camera with f/2.0. This is indeed quite a step forward for LG which has been working hard on improving the smartphone camera technology in the past few years.
Why the aperture size matters is that this will now allow the users to capture more light. Meaning night-time shots will no longer be grainy and low-light. The LG V30 camera allows the users to capture 30% more light than the LG G6 camera. This is because of the f/1.6 aperture on the LG V30 camera compared to the f/1.8 LG G6 camera. LG also confirmed that the LG V30 camera will feature laser detection AF, Optical Image Stabilization a well as Electronic Image Stabilization.
Moreover, LG also revealed the fact that the phone will be coming out with a crystal clear lens, which allows capturing more light when compared to the plastic lenses many phones use. Put together all this information into one smartphone camera and the LG V30 camera does look very impressive and might give low-end DSLRs a run for their money!
