Honor has been among the most popular names when it comes to affordable smartphone technology. It is a sub-brand of Huawei, but unlike its parent, it was quick in gaining international recognition. The company has a strong presence in Asia as well as in the Western markets. Â Honor is now gearing up to launch their next major smartphone, the Honor 9. The company has today confirmed that it will come out on the 12th of June.
The Honor 9 smartphone will follow last years’ Honor 8, which was among the most successful phones from the company. The news that this upcoming phone would launch on the 12th of June was declared on Honor’s official Weibo page. The launch of the phone comes just three days before the alleged launch of the upcoming OnePlus flagship, the OnePlus 5.
The Honor 9 smartphone has been spotted on various listings online. These benchmark listings indicate the phone would come out into the markets with a dual camera setup, which was expected given the Honor 8 too had it. This time however, the phone would feature a fingerprint scanner on the front. The phone would come out with a curved back design.
It would feature the volume and power keys on the right side. The Honor 9 would come out into the markets with a 5.15 inched full HD screen. It is expected to come out in 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM variants along with a 64GB storage space. Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 960 64-bit octa-core processor will power this device. On the back would be a 20MP and a 12MP camera. The front camera would offer a resolution of 8MP.
The phone would run on a 3100mAh battery. It is expected to run on the Android 7.1 Nougat OS with the EMUI 5.1 running on top. Gold, Blue, Black, White, Yellow, Silver and Purple color variants are expected.
