Apple had quite a day! The company announced the latest generation of Apple Watch, the Apple Watch Series 2 smartwatches. They finally showed off the gen-next iPhone device we had all been waiting for, for a really long time, the iPhone 7. The company also announced the iPhone 7 Plus. Despite all the rumors, the iPhone 7 PRO did not come out. However, Apple has now announced that the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are all set to be discontinued.

The iPhone 5s is perhaps the most iconic iPhone ever created. The smartphone has been around for a really long time, and has sold well over the years. Apple has introduced various price drops to the iPhone 5s from time to time, but it is finally the time to say goodbye. The company has, alongside the iPhone 5s, also bid farewell to the iPhone 6 and 6 plus smartphones. However, the iPhone 6s and 6s plus will continue coming out.

Other than that, the iPhone SE announced earlier this year, would continue to be on sale. Moreover, Apple announced that they are no longer going to release smartphones with storage less than 32GB. They have bumped up the storage of all existing iPhones to 32GB. The iPhone SE, however, does not get this special treatment, and would remain the last iPhone to sell with a 16GB storage space.

The iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have since been taken off the Apple website as well. This is indeed a fresh, new start for Apple, as the company now gears up to take the markets by storm with their gen-next smartphone, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
