Google has recently released the statistics for the different versions running on the devices. As per the report, it’s latest Operating system, Android Nougat 7.0 which is released a month ago by the company contributes less than 0.1 percent of the devices. The data was collected by the company in 7 days of a period ending on September 5. Recently, Android Nougat has been rolled out for the Android One Users.
As per the Android Developers page, moving towards the detailed specifications of the different versions on devices. Android Marshmallow contributes to 18.7% share on android devices which increased to 3.5% from the previous month. Android Lollipop contributes 35% of the total market from its both API’s, out of which Android Lollipop 5.0 has 13.1% share and Android Lollipop 5.1 has rest 21.9% of share.
Android KitKat is slowing vanishing from the market, it’s current market share is 27.7% which decreased to 1.5% share from earlier month data. Android Jellybean is now contributing 15.6% of the overall market share which was 16.7% previously. Apart from this, Android Ice Cream Sandwich is now contributing 1.4% of share in the market. Android Gingerbread is contributing 1.5% of the devices and Android Froyo has only 0.1% of share in the market.
Other than this, they are also providing information about the distribution of various screen sizes available on different devices. As per the analysis, small size devices cover 1.7% of the market. Normal size devices contribute a major share in the market of 87.1% which shows the design of normal size devices is precise. Large size devices like tablet contribute to 7.4% of market share and extra large size tablets contribute to 3.9% share.
Other details include distribution of OpenGL version, of which OpenGL 2.0 has 44.9% of the market while OpenGL 3.0 and OpenGL 3.1 have 42.3% and 12.8% of market share respectively.
