The upcoming OnePlus flagship, OnePlus 5 has been a subject of several leaks in the past. However, many major specifications were under confusion. There were speculations about multiple RAM variants, as well as the camera setup. However, as we draw closer to the launch, details are now emerging at a much rapid pace. Amazon India has now accidentally leaked the specifications of this phone in their source code. This was spotted by the eagle-eyed tipster, Evan Blass.
While we already knew that the OnePlus 5 would be coming out with a Octa Core Snapdragon 835 processor. Latest details now indicate that the processor would be clocked in at 2.35GHz. However, perhaps the biggest reveal comes in the fact that the OnePlus 5 would feature a massive 8GB RAM. It was being expected that the phone would come out with 6GB of RAM while an 8GB RAM variant would later come out. However, the phone will have it right from day 1.
In a time where even 6GB RAM phones seem out of place, an 8GB RAM phone would be rather absurd. However, OnePlus has always been one step ahead of other flagship devices when it comes to the RAM. Many smartphone analysts as well as industry experts have called 6GB RAM devices as a ‘psychological comfort’. The same is the case with 8GB RAM too, it seems, unless OnePlus has a plan that they will reveal during the launch.
OnePlus is officially going to launch this phone in India during an event in Mumbai on the 22nd of June. The event will take place at 2:00PM as per IST. Moreover, the phone would come out as an Amazon Exclusive - it would be available for purchase only from Amazon India.
Leaked details have shown us in the past that the OnePlus 5 would come out into the markets with a dual camera on the back. The phone is expected to showcase 128GB of storage space, and is expected to come out into the markets at price of around INR 26,500.
